Discover the heart of Loonskin Bay Cultural Camp, where the traditions of the Peerless Trout First Nation are honored and shared for future generations.

Our Story: A Legacy of Culture and Connection

Loonskin Bay Cultural Camp was founded with a deep purpose—to create a space where Indigenous traditions, stories, and teachings could be preserved and shared with the world. Rooted in the lands of the Peerless Trout First Nation, our camp stands as a testament to resilience, community, and cultural pride. For generations, our people have lived in harmony with the land, drawing wisdom from nature and passing down invaluable knowledge through storytelling, ceremony, and traditional practices.

The camp’s location on Trout Lake, known in Cree as Namekos Sakahikan, has long been a gathering place for our ancestors. Today, it continues to serve as a place of learning, healing, and unity, where both Indigenous and non-Indigenous visitors can come together to experience the richness of our culture firsthand.

Our Mission: Preserving and Sharing Indigenous Traditions

At Loonskin Bay Cultural Camp, our mission is to provide a space where Indigenous culture is celebrated and passed down to future generations. We are committed to:

  • Cultural Education – Teaching traditional practices, language, and customs through hands-on workshops and storytelling.
  • Community Engagement – Strengthening connections among Indigenous families and fostering understanding with visitors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Environmental Stewardship – Honoring the land by practicing sustainable living and sharing knowledge of traditional ecological practices.

Through our programs, events, and workshops, we aim to create meaningful experiences that inspire a deeper appreciation for Indigenous ways of life. Every guest who visits our camp becomes part of this ongoing journey—one that honors the past, enriches the present, and shapes the future.

Join us in celebrating the vibrant traditions of the Peerless Trout First Nation at Loonskin Bay Cultural Camp.
